How to reach island Vis

Vis is an island in the middle of the Adriatic sea, 54 km (29 NM) from the mainland. It can only be reached by boat – Car ferry, fast catamaran (for passengers only) or private boat/yacht.
Ferries depart from Split only.
Catamaran also every day depart from Split but:
At Tuesday only catamaran sail via Hvar and you can board up in Hvar.
At Wednesday only catamaran sail via bay Milna on the island of Brač and you can board up in Milna.

SPLIT - VIS - SPLIT

The car-ferries of Jadrolinija depart from Split harbour. Tickets for the ferry you can Buy Online or before boarding from the kiosk in front of where the ferry dock (on the beginning of “Gat Svetog Petra” dock).
The journey Split-Vis is 29 miles (54 km) and takes 2 hours and 15 minutes.
If you haven’t bought the tickets online, tickets from the kiosk in Split you can pay by cash or by all major credit cards.
It is not possible to make a reservation for these ferries. So we recommend that if you are bringing a car you arrive at least one hour before departure and preferably earlier.

High Speed Catamaran of "Jadrolinija"
SPLIT - (Brač / Hvar) - VIS - (Hvar / Brač) - SPLIT

Faster way of coming to Vis is to take a fast catamaran of Jadrolinija.
It also departs from Split harbour, from dock: “Gat Svetog Petra” (esplanade).
At Tuesday only catamaran sail via Hvar and you can board up in Hvar also.
At Wednesday only catamaran sail via bay Milna on the island of Brač and you can board up in Milna also.
Tickets for catamaran you can Buy Online or before boarding from the kiosk in front of where the catamaran dock (on the beginning of “Gat Svetog Petra” dock).
Direct journey Split-Vis is 29 miles (54 km) and takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
At Tuesday catamaran from Split to Vis via Hvar sail about 2 hours (depends on the crowd in Hvar). At Wednesday (via Milna on Brač) catamaran sail about 1 hour and 35 minutes (depends on the crowd in Milna).
